Charlie Rundell, owner of C & R Truck Wreckers began in the trucking industry in 1952 as an interstate truck driver, and knows the frustration of a breakdown. How expensive new parts are, the cost of phone calls and the urgency to get your rig back on the road in the shortest time.
So in 1970, decided to pull on the air horn for the last time, and provide his trucking mates with a service he knew was hard to find.
C & R Truck Wreckers started in Cambria Rd in Dandenong, and over the years has grown to be one of the best truck wreckers in the Melbourne Metropolitan area.
Relocating to a bigger yard on the South Gippsland Highway, and his son Ken and son-in-law John joining the company was another step towards improvement for customers.
With developing freeways in the metropolitan area and the increased traffic jams, C & R Truck Wreckers decided to relocate to West Gippsland, opening a new premises in Yarragon, just 10 minutes east of Warragul.
The new premises has been modified and constructed to ensure a fast efficient service is offered to customers.
Now being online, they endeavour to provide quality service at the customer’s convenience, now giving a 24-hour service, which is a must for truck drivers.
The sudden passing of John in October 2006 was a shock to not only
the family, but also our many regular customers.
